RELOCATION OF STUD
APH
marked the turn of the century with a significant move - relocating the stud north of the Hunter Valley in NSW, to the edge of the Liverpool Plains. Now situated on 1100 acres of prime agricultural country, the move allowed APH not only to become self sufficient in terms of fodder production, but also to diversify into alternative commercial agricultural pursuits.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
One of the priority actions was to establish a balanced pasture specifically to optimize the growth and development of the young horses, and the results are tangible. Conceived, nurtured and weaned on the new pastures, the last crops of foals are outstanding. Complementing this growth advantage is the very high fertility rate achieved, proving that good nutrition and natural breeding methods will produce significant commercial results.

EXPANDED GENETICS
Over the last eight years we have gradually expanded our imported mare base. The first new acquisition in 1993 was a young Holsteiner filly, EIBE II, by COLANDO IV, purchased in Holstein and put in foal to CORIANDER. Coriander was a grand prix dressage stallion who possessed an outstanding jumping breeding index. EIBE remained in Germany to foal and duly produced us a filly foal, EMILY, before being transported to Australia. She has since produced 3 colts - 2 by ROCADERO, and 1 by LÜBECK before producing 2 outstanding fillies by LÜBECK, ELLE (1999) EVANGELINE (2000). EMILY is now in foal to CORIOLO.

In the same year we purchased two Holsteiner foals, LÜBECK, a colt by LOUTANO, and CALETTA, a filly foal CALETTO I. They travelled together as weanlings, and grew up in Australia. Their subsequent 2 matings have produced us 2 super fillies CARLOTTA (1999) and CHLOE (2000)

LÜBECK has since replaced ROCADERO as No. 1 sire. He consistently produces quality foals in modern type with extravagant movement and wonderful temperaments. ROCADERO returned to Holstein Germany where he continues his stud career, aged 21 years.

Our desire for more CORIANDER breeding, saw the purchase of LIVORNA (by LAKAI) in foal to CORIANDER in 1996. That mating produced the colt foal CORIANDUS, and a subsequent mating CORIOLO. Both were later imported. LIVORNA was again served by CORIANDER, and utilising the new quarantine procedures, was imported in foal to Willow Tree, where we have established a quarantine facility. True to script she produced the super moving filly DONNA LYDIA (98)

CORIANDUS has now produced his first crop of foals with wonderful results. There is every indication that he will complement the upcoming LÜBECK fillies, and we await the results with great anticipation
